BRIDGE OF ALLAN The winter season is well underway at Bridge of Allan, and in last Friday’s Senior Gents 9 hole Stableford scoring proved to be very good indeed.

Robert McLaren won on the day by virtue of a countback, with David Shaw second, both players scoring 21 points. Third place went to Joe Millar on 19 points.

The early pacesetter in the Senior Gents Winter Order of Merit is Tony Jackson with 18 points, and the current leader of the Senior Gents Winter Eclectic is Alan Booth with a score of 27 points.

On Saturday Gents played in the weekly Saturday Winter Medal, and the clear winner by 5 shots was David Shaw who returned a Net 62. Second and third respective­ly were Bert Zanelli and Ian Houston, both scoring Net 67. In the Saturday Eclectic for the McCallum Rosebowl, the current leader is last year’s winner Martin Baird with a net 50 total. DOLLAR Polish Cup (Rd 7) - Saturday November 24

Div 2: 1st Bill Cook (17) 40 pts; 2nd Terry Young (21) 38 pts; 3rd Brian Miller (14) 37 pts. BRAEHEAD The senior members of Braehead played Round Three of the Ochil Shield over the 12 hole Par 46 winter course in wet adverse conditions once again.

Some 34 players competed for the sponsors prize with some good scores being returned in trying conditions.

Division One: 1st David Reid 53-8=45; 2nd Bill Ross 56-685=48.

Division Two: 1st equal Mike Tetlow 55-9=46; 2nd equal Andrew Neil 60-14=46; 3rd equal Kevin Shelfer 60-14=46; 4th equal Ken Wilson 65-19=46.

Jim Syme won the weekly sponsors prize from our caterer, The Grill @ Braehead in Round Two and David Reid won the prize in Round Three.

The Senior Section prizegivin­g and Christmas Lunch is being held on Wednesday December 5 and it is hoped that the event will be well supported by the senior members of the club.
