A former Alva Academy pupil is next week celebrating 15 years working with burger chain McDonald’s.

Craig Cadden, 32, is employed as business manager in the company’s Murray Place restaurant in Stirling.

Craig began working part-time at McDonald’s in 2003 when he was 17, whilst in his sixth year at Alva Academy.

After leaving school, he continued at McDonald’s and has since worked his way up the business.

He was promoted to staff trainer in 2005 and shift-running floor manager in 2006.

Three years later , in 2009, he had a short spell at Stirling’s Drip Road restaurant where he was promoted to an assistant manager and met his girlfriend Gemma.

In 2011, the two had a son together, Jamie.

Craig moved back to the Murray Place eaterie in March, 2016, where he currently works as business manager, overseeing a team of 58 people.

McDonald’s franchisee Elliot Jardine, who owns the two Stirling restaurants, has worked with Craig for 11 years.

He said:“I am proud of Craig and all he’s achieved with us here at McDonald’s.

“He has an unrelenting enthusiasm for the job and an infectious personality that makes him a joy to work with. He’s a natural leader, a true team player and I look forward to the next 15 years working together!”

Craig added:“I really appreciate the opportunities I’ve been given to learn new skills and gain qualifications at McDonald’s.

“The team and customers at the restaurants here in Stirling are amazing to work with and I think taking up full-time hours after school was one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
