Santa’s sleigh is making its way to Bannockburn
Christmas cheer will be in full swing at a Bannockburn car showroom tonight (Friday).
Santa and his sleigh will be at the Kilgannon Motors Christmas Party between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, courtesy of the car dealer and Carse of Stirling Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club have been holding the Santa and his sleigh event for a number of years to raise money for charity.
This year money raised will go to‘Kids Out’, a fun event to be held at Stirling Rugby Club in June for more than 500 disadvantaged children.
The Kilgannon Motors event is part of that fundraising.
Steven Clydesdale of Kilgannon Motors of Falkirk Road said this week:“We’re more than happy to help the local community for a good cause.
“We’ll be moving a lot of cars from the forecourt to accommodate the event.
“When the Rotary club suggested getting involved we said by all means.
“This is the first time we have done this and hopefully it will become an annual event.”
Carse of Stirling Rotary Club, which meets in the Golden Lion on Wednesdays at 6.30pm, has also been fundraising door-to-door in Stirling and will be fundraising at Tesco, Stirling, this Saturday, December 15, and Morrisons, Stirling, on Saturday December 22 and Sunday December 23.
Mike McCormick of the rotary club said:“We try our best to cover as many areas as we can, but sometimes the‘elves’are worn out and cannot do any more.
“Our good friends at Prudential also send elves along to help us out, but we would like more members to join in.
“It’s fantastic seeing everyone from kids to grandparents smiling and waving to Santa who brings so much joy.”
