Sally Army spreads some Christmas cheer at Sue Ryder

-

Care centre staff have thanked the Salvation Army for laying on a Christmas lunch for a group of 15 Sue Ryder Stirling Homecare service users.

The festive dinner was held at the Salvation Army Centre in Drip Road, and gifts were handed out following a collection at the Sue Ryder charity shop in Dunblane.

The Sue Ryder Stirling Homecare service, run by healthcare charity Sue Ryder, provides care for people living with life– changing conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and dementia.

Lorraine Linton, Sue Ryder director of community services said: “Staff and volunteers at Sue Ryder would like to say a sincere‘thank you’to the local Salvation Army for offering a lovely Christmas lunch and celebration to our service users.

“We know that Christmas can be an isolating time for those who may not have family or friends close by, and so we were very touched when the Salvation Army offered to put on this lunch.

“Special thanks also go to all the generous Stirling locals who donated gifts to the Sue Ryder shop in Dunblane. Our service users were thrilled to receive these gifts today at the lunch when they were given out by none other than Santa himself.

“The celebration was just one example of the Stirlingshire community coming together to make a difference – with people really caring about those who may be experiencing loneliness and isolation.”
