Faster broadband pledge to BofA

-

Bridge of Allan is to be included in a faster fibre broadband initiative currently being rolled out around Stirling.

Digital infrastructure provider Cityfibre said the town will be included in its full-fibre broadband scheme.

In a letter to Clackmannanshire and Dunblane MSP Keith Brown Stirling Council’s Heather Robb said: “Cityfibre have confirmed that their current fibre to the premise (FTTP) project will extend to Bridge of Allan.

“The build project started in November and is expected to take 18-24 months to complete.

“We do not yet have detail on the dates for the rollout to areas covered but expect to have this from Cityfibre in the new year.”

Mr Brown said:“I am pleased with the confirmation that Bridge of Allan is set to benefit from the broadband infrastructure investment being rolled out through the Cityfibre scheme.

“This will offer significant improvements in the connectivity for many of my Bridge of Allan constituents.

“I note that the next step will be to engage with the community ahead of works and keep them fully informed about developments.

“I look forward to Bridge of Allan and other areas involved benefiting from this welcome digital infrastructure investment.”

The roll-out will also extend to Bannockburn and Cambusbarron, Blanefield, Kippen and Buchlyvie.
