Brother pleads with missing Redmond to get in touch
The brother of a missing Tullibody man this week issued a desperate plea for him to get in touch – a month after he was last seen.
Redmond Taylor was last seen on Tuesday, February 12, leaving Forth Valley Royal Hospital, in Larbert, at around 12.30pm and heading towards the Bellsdyke Roundabout.
The 26–year–old, who now lives in Alloa, has not been in contact with his family or returned home since.
CCTV footage shows Mr Taylor walking in the Torwood area about an hour later, at 1.30pm.
This week officers said that the last sighting of him was later that day on a field close to Glenbervie Fishery. A witness spotted him in the field to the west of the A9, near Torwood.
Mr Taylor’s brother, Robert, 37, implored him to get in touch. Speaking at a press conference at Alloa Police Office on Monday, he said: “We need to know that you’re okay and you’re not in any trouble. We are all here for you .”
He also told how their mother, Sandra, has had great difficult coming to terms with the disappearance, which he described as “out of character”.
He added: “I would have had my mum here but she can’t cope with the situation. It’s been quite stressful.
“Redmond hasn’t gone missing before so we’re all really worried,”
It’s understood that Redmond, who had been due to move back to the Tullibody area this month, has not used his bank cards or mobile phone which he is believed to have been in possession of when he was last seen.
Officers have been daily combing the area where Mr Taylor was last spotted and are urging anyone in the Torwood or Glenbervie areas who may have information which could be relevant to come forward.
Inspector Mark Murphy has been in close contact with the family throughout the search.
He said: “I would ask anybody, going back a month, if they had potential sightings, or if they found any wallets, mobile phones that are broken, any clothing, anything at all, to get in touch with us.”
Mr Taylor was last observed wearing a black long–sleeved top, dark–coloured jeans, grey trainers and carrying a white bag.
He is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair, blue eyes and stubble.
He is a single, unemployed man, with no dependents.
Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting the incident number 1457 of February 13.
