Youngsters at Stirling Methodists put their green hearts into climate campaign

-

Stirling Methodist Church has taken part in the Climate Coalition’s Show The Love campaign.

As part of the campaign, young people from the church made Green Heart badges which have been worn by many members of the congregation to‘show their love’for the Earth and commitment to its protection.

The Church invited Stirling’s MP Stephen Kerr and MSPs representing Stirling to also take part.

Mr Kerr said:“Climate Change as an issue can often seem so big and so complex that it can be difficult to see how individual actions can make a difference. Well – they can and they do. It is vitally important we all take responsibility for our own actions and do what we can, when we can. Cutting out single use plastics for example and recycling everything you can are just two ways we can do our bit.”

Green Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Mark Ruskell described the campaign as“a great way to spread the word about the seriousness of the climate challenge that we face” while even Tory fracking fan Murdo Fraser MSP

“We are starting to see the changes right here on our doorstep and the UN IPCC Reports last year have highlighted the need for urgency. But the campaign believes a future where we no longer contribute to climate change is within reach and it’s not too late to leave a legacy we can be proud of
