MSP Stewart’s support for apprentices
Alexander Stewart MSP met catering apprentices at Queen Victoria School in Dunblane recently in support of Scottish Apprenticeship Week.
The MSP praised the contribution of apprentices to businesses and the economy.
“Without apprentices taking up the reins and learning the many individual skills, which are being passed on to them, the future of our businesses would be far more limited than they are now,”he added.
“An apprenticeship gives our younger people the opportunity to learn whilst doing the job as well as gaining an industry-recognised qualification, whilst developing a good work ethic and also earning a wage.
“It was a great pleasure to have met the apprentices today and to have heard of their experiences at the school. I was also delighted to meet Aramark’s regional contract director Andre Mans, plus Michelle Batt from their partnership company, MGT Training and many of the staff who joined us on the day.
“It is imperative that we support the training and development of our apprentices; they are valued members of their teams as well as our future.”
A spokesperson for catering contractor to the military and uniform services Aramark Defence Services said: “Side-by-side apprenticeships play a key role in giving our employees and our business a platform for success, by developing and enhancing the skills of our workforce, thus ensuring they are better prepared to deliver for our clients and customers at the highest level, as part of our mission to nourish and enrich lives.”
