Enterprise hub opens

-

A new hub has been launched with the aim of helping with the establishment of social enterprises in the Loch Lomond area.

Balloch-based charity Community Partnership and the Social Enterprise Academy are behind the centre in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park .

The venture is intended to establish a pool of Social Enterprise Academy associate learning facilitators in the park area.

Development manager for the community partnership Anne Sobey, said: “Social enterprise is a dynamic and transformative way of communities doing business, particularly if you are involved in development trusts, community councils, village hall committees, community action planning or if you are an existing or aspiring social entrepreneur.

“The hub’s programme will provide the best opportunity to connect and learn with others who are creating positive social change across the national park.”

The first major event will be the Growing Enterprising Communities event on the August 28 at the Three Villages Hall in Arrochar which is open to a wide range of people, including those working in learning centres, youth work, outdoor activities, libraries, as well as those addressing specific issues or running facilities.

To reserve a place at the event next month, email fiona.paul@lochlomond-trossachs.org

The scheme is funded by Forth Valley and Lomond, and Argyll and the Islands Leader programmes through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Scottish Government – Europe Investing in Rural Areas and supported by the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority.
