CALLANDER KIRK

Early worship on Sunday at 10am in the kirk hall will be led by Rev Jeff McCormick (Luke 15 v1-3 and 8-10). Morning service is at 11.15am in Callander Kirk, followed by informal Communion. Songs of Praise is at 8pm in the kirk. Teapot Cafe is on Wednesdays from 10.30am until noon in the Yvonne Fuller Library. All welcome to come along for fellowship and refreshmen­ts. If you can bring someone who would not otherwise manage or can encourage others to come and try, that would be excellent.

KIRK OPEN DAYS

The church doors will be open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout July, Augfust and September. Visitors will hear stories about old Gargunnock including when the Jacobite Army marched past the Kirk in 1745 and 1746, the founding of the Gargunnock Agricultur­al Show, the coming of the first fresh water source in the village, the building of the old school (now the community centre). Tours take around 45 minutes for a maximum of eight people on each tour. There are spaces available for tours on Wednesday, July 24 at 2pm and Saturday, July 27 at 2pm plus others dates during the summer. GARDEN JUDGING

The village gardens will be judged on Tuesday, July 23 from 1pm. If you wish your garden to be put forward, applicatio­ns are available from the village shop, and remember you can also nominate your neighbour’s garden, with their permission. There are several categories, best flowers, best layout, best vegetables, best flowers and vegetables. Please, without your support for this event there is a possibilit­y that this will be the final year. This was originally a village interest event and when this group folded
