PARISH CHURCH

The church is holding its autumn fayre on Saturday, October 26 in the church halls and church from 11am and 2pm in aid of church funds. There are a variety of stalls including cake and candy, craft, children’s, raffle etc. Soup and sandwiches or tea/coffee and cakes will be served for the duration of the fayre. But you can pay extra to add a cuppa and goodies after your soup and sandwiches. All welcome.

BANNOCKBUR­N BUTTERCUP CAFE

Helpers/volunteers required at the cafe in Allan Church Community Hall every Monday 2pm- 3.45pm. If you can help in any way, just pop in for a tea/coffee and ask to speak to Olive or Margaret. This is a dementia friendly well-being community café, helping people and their carers with socialisin­g and activities. The cafe is open to all members of the community with or without ailments/conditions. There is dominoes, cards and musical bingo.

ALLAN CHURCH

Service on Sunday will be led by Iain Armstrong at 11.15am and Welcome Team 5 is on duty. All welcome. Sunday school takes place in the church hall after the Children’s Address. If you wish your child/children to attend please speak to Kirsty MacGowan (Sunday school superinten­dent). Creche available. Tuesday Coffee Club with Team 3 on duty is from 10-11.30am. Coffee and a piece of home baking for £1.50. Tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm there is a quiz night in the Allan Church Hall in aid of Start Up Stirling, entry £4. A quiz night in aid of Start Up Stirling will be held in the Allan Church Hall tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm, costing £4 per person. Friday’s Tea in the Park outing is to the Courtyard Tea Room in Bonnybridg­e. Meet there at 2.30pm or contact Jean Hastings if you need transport. BANNOCKBUR­N HOUSE

On Friday, October 11, trustees welcomed MSP Bruce Crawford and MP Stephen Kerr to Bannockbur­n House. Led by chair Penny Ellis, trustees outlined the master plan for Bannockbur­n House and grounds and were assured by both of their support for the current City Deal bid. More than 30 people of all ages enjoyed a muddy metal detecting event at the house on Sunday. Finds included musket balls, keys, bridles, horseshoes, nails, coins, belt buckles, tree identifica­tion tags and more. The tree identifica­tion tags are a particular­ly welcome find, enabling the garden team to use that informatio­n when choosing tree varieties for the planned orchard. Plans continue for the Christmas Fayre which will take place on November 30-December 1. Tickets will be available soon on Eventbrite and in local shops. LADYWELL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday) the coffee morning is from 10am till noon. Craft Club meets tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the small hall. All welcome. Sunday’s service will be led by the minister Rev Liz Robertson. Sunday school is held during the service. Team Two will be on duty. Supper dance with music from the Grand Boys takes place on Saturday, October 19 at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £10 available from Evelyn Sillars or Grace O’Rourke.
