COMMUNITY LIBRARY

The community-run library is open on Monday 10am-2pm; Thursday 5-7pm; Friday 10am-noon and Saturday 10.30am-12.30pm. Free Bookbug sessions on Tuesdays from 10.30-11am. Membership is free and is available to all in Menstrie and the wider community. There will be a week long Lego Club until October 18 6-7.30pm (half-term). All are welcome to join for Lego, story, facepainti­ng and snack. There are limited spaces so please register your interest by name on the Our Dumyat Facebook Page or pop into the library during opening times. There will be a cost of £5 per family. MENSTRIE UF CHURCH

Sunday worship at 10am will be conducted by the minister, Rev Jason Lingiah. Prayer Meeting and Bible Study will be on Tuesday, November 5 at 10.30am in the church. Advance notice that on Remembranc­e Sunday (November 10) there will be a service at 10am in the church and a short service at Menstrie War Memorial at 3pm. MENSTRIE PARISH CHURCH

Worship on Sunday will be led by Mr Alistair McPherson. Rev Barry Hughes (St Mark’s, Stirling) has been appointed as Interim Moderator but in the meantime anyone requiring the services of a minister are asked to contact one or other of the joint Session Clerks. T in 2 continues on Wednesdays from 10.30am – all welcome. The church is currently collecting goods for the Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal – boxes to be packed on Wednesday, November 6 from 10am. Grateful thanks to all who contribute­d to two fundraisin­g activities recently - £220 was raised for the Scottish Bible Society and £331 was raised for Christian Aid – neither of these figures include Gift Aid which will swell the amounts even more. The Guild held a successful lunch, following Sunday’s service, as part of Guild Week.

HISTORY GROUP

Next talk in Tullibody Heritage Centre on Thursday, October 31 at 7.30pm is entitled The Life and Works of David Allan and will; be given by Susan Mills. Tea and coffee available, all welcome. Admission £1 for members, £1.50 non-members.
