Indoor bowlers suffer opening day defeat
Stirling indoor bowlers suffered an early setback on Saturday when they lost their opening Division Two match at Headwell.
In a keenly contested match in which Stirling led by 10 shots at one point, the Fifers eventually took the points winning by three shots (74-71) with both sides finishing with two winning rinks.
Stirling’s next league opponents on Saturday are East Fife at home.
The senior gents’ team, having played three games, have still to taste victory.
In their latest match last week against Abbeyview they lost 72-54.
Meanwhile Stirling ladies enjoyed their first league victory on Saturday defeating Fintry 58-55.

It was a family affair in the Cambusbarron championship with fathers and sons playing in both semi-finals. David Ferguson took on David Ferguson jun while Stephen Whitton played Kieran Whitton.
The eventual winner was David jun with victory over Stephen.
And in the mixed pairs final the family theme continued with winners mum and dad Louise and Stephen Whitton lining up against daughter and son Abbie and Kieran.
