40th bonfire night’s sure to go off with a bang
A bumper crowd is expected at the bonfire and fireworks spectacular to be held in Bridge of Allan on Tuesday.
Strathallan Games Park is the venue for the event which is the 40th Bonfire Night celebration to be organised by Stirling and Bridge of Allan Round Table.
Heading this year’s entertainment programme will be Craig John, one of the UK’s leading Freddie Mercury impersonators, and Spanish multi-instrumental duo the Cabeytu Brothers.
Round Table chairman Garry Freckleton said all profits from the night would go to Stirling area charities and causes.
He added:“With the support of the crowds who have continued to support this traditional bonfire celebration, the Round Table is each year able to donate around £15,000 to schools, sports clubs, community projects, food banks, charities and many more through our grants scheme.
“We continue to be amazed and extremely grateful with the support we receive from the people of Bridge of Allan and beyond. We try and improve the spectacle on offer each year with more food outlets, loos and value for money, and hope that Bridge of Allan continues to have this popular event for years to come.”
Stuart Kennedy, a member of the Round Table and one of the main organisers of the fireworks event added:“With the original Queen, including the real Freddie Mercury, having played Stirling University in 1974, and coming off the back off the internationally acclaimed biopic‘Bohemian Rhapsody’we felt that after 45 years it was time to bring their music back to Bridge of Allan for our 40th.”
Gates open at 5.45pm, and the show concludes at 7.45pm.
Visitors can pay at the gate, or get special deals and discounts by buying a ticket from the Stirling Albert Halls ticket office or http:// culturestirling.org/events/ bridge-allan-fireworks/
