Liberal Democrat

-

I want to play a part in building a better future for people in Ochil And South Perthshire. The Liberal Democrats have both a vision for the future and a firm grip on the reality of our situation.

It is vital that we continue trading with our European partners and that we continue to benefit from the economic and social benefits we enjoy today.

It is equally vital that we continue these links with the rest of the UK. If we are given the chance, we will halt Brexit or at least work with others towards a People’s Vote. This would give us a £50bn remain bonus to plough back into services which have been drained of resources by the current Tory government.

We recognise the dangers to the environment and will aim to increase electricity from renewables to 80% by 2030. We must abolish fuel poverty in Scotland. We believe in a proper integrated transport system with easy disabled access, working for everybody and reducing emissions and will work towards this across the UK.

Our NHS is facing crisis at every level; surgeries are closing, waiting lists under pressure, hospitals failing. There is the double-edged Brexit threat from losing EU staff and Trump’s drug companies.

If elected Lib Dems will work at Westminster to sort out the mess with knock on benefits to Scotland.

Scotland voted no to the breakup of the UK and no to Brexit; Lib Dems are the only party to stand by that and the only party which is determined not to play games with the prosperity and wellbeing of us all.
