Adventure playfacility

Plans for a new children’s indoor adventure play facility in the city centre have been lodged with Stirling Council planners.

Go Play Scotland Ltd are seeking a change of use of units 2 and 3 at the small retail park at 35 Burghmuir Road to create the new enterprise along with cafe facilities.

They also hope to create a seasonal outdoor seating area at the facility, which would also feature sensory rooms for children with learning disabilities.

The firm’s director Jason Donald told the Observer: “Since my son came along seven years ago, my wife and I have struggled to find a really cool and unique play area especially in winter time, which is when families need an indoor play area more than ever, when the Scottish weather is so poor.

“Having worked in retail here for over 28 years, I felt Stirling would be the obvious choice for my new venture as the area has been successful for me in the past.

“I have designed an experience with everything I, as the customer, would like to see from a soft play. It will be unlike anything seen before in a conventional soft play.

“I have so many quirks and surprises planned for the children, but I’ve not forgotten the adults and I’ve designed a space looking to provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment for them too. It’s really exciting.”

If planning consent is granted Mr Donald said he hopes the venture will be on schedule to open in Spring next year.
