MCLAREN HIGH

BOYS FOOTBALL U15

Congratulate to the under 15 boys’ team who won against an excellent Balfron High side last week. Adverse weather conditions didn’t dampen coach Wadkins enthusiasm and thanks to Euan and Archie for giving up their time to help coach the team. Great to have so many boys training on a Wednesday evening. Liam Trotter was unavailable last night but has been a regular in the team.

MCLAREN STEAM

Another fantastic result for pupils in the First Lego League Competition. McLaren had two teams participating - the ‘STEMTroopers’ finished first overall and UByte were runnersup with both teams qualifying for the Scottish finals.

LOCH EIL

The Outdoor Experience at Loch Eil Outward Bound Centre is an established event on the school calendar which pupils and staff look forward to every year. This year it took place from November 25-29.

Participating in outdoor activities and working as part of a team, whatever the weather, to undertake challenges has proved to be an invaluable and rewarding experience for all involved. It’s a great way to build relationships between pupils and staff and the school believes that everyone should experience life outside the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development.

Participating teachers have always been interested in outdoor activities and love to find ways to connect with pupils on a different level. They feel that pupils become more independent, confident and resilient by being involved in outdoor activities, making significant developments personally, socially and having a greater awareness of the environment and nature.
