Demand is growing for Throsk gin brand

-

Throsk-based Boë Gin secured an additional 4,000 new UK outlets for its product between January and August this year.

Brewery, pub and hotel operator Marston’s, pub chain Hall and Woodhouse and Whitbread are now stocking Boë Gin.

And on-trade analysts CGA released figures showing that Boë has more than doubled in volume and value over 2019.

It is thought to be the fastest growing gin brand compared with competitors such as Brockman’s, Whitley Neill and Warner Edwards.

CGA data also revealed that Boë is the only brand to show an increase in price/ litre for both the quarter and the year together.

Boë Gin was launched in 2007 and is based at Bandeath Industrial Estate. It specialises in colourful, flavoured gins.

Company director Andrew Richardson said:“In the fast moving, competitive gin market , it’s getting even tougher for brands to have an impact, and make it onto shelves and into glasses. Therefore as we reach the end of the year we are delighted with how Boë has gone from strength to strength.

“Boë’s success is based on having gins which are distinctive, taste amazing, sell well, and are supported by heavyweight marketing investment.”

The success follows a marketing campaign earlier this year featuring singer Paloma Faith.

In May, Boë Gin owners VC2 announced it had sold its beer brands and bottling facilities to Isle of Skye Brewing Company.

V2 produced the Black Wolf range of beers plus Stivy’s Cider but made the move to sell the beer side of its business to focus more on the sale and marketing of Boë Gin which in July employed 15 people at the Throsk premises.
