Insurance company toopen itsdoors

Insurance company Allied Westminste­r is setting up a new office in the Stirling area.

The major insurance provider to thousands of village halls across the UK has announced it will open a new branch in the area but the specific location has not been revealed.

Stirling MP Alyn Smith (below) welcomed the announceme­nt and said:“This is good news for the Stirling area. Allied Westminste­r have done a lot of work across the UK, and their latest decision to open an office locally underlines that Stirling is very much the place to do business.

“I welcome Gavin and the team, and encourage many more companies like Allied Westminste­r to look to Stirling as the place to invest.”

The company describes itself as:“a financiall­y robust, growing, and successful business. For over 25 years Allied Westminste­r has been a pioneer in the design of specialist insurance management software and customer management systems, and in the integratio­n of geographic­al informatio­n systems.”

The company began in London in 1989 and currently has its head office inWestYork­shire.

Managing Director Gavin Mitchell said:“This is a great place to work, and as a proud Scot, I am looking forward to being based in our new Stirling Office, and living in an area of such outstandin­g natural beauty. I am pleased to say we number a great many Village Hall Trustees as customers in Scotland, and have very close working relationsh­ip with AVIVA (our key UK-wide underwrite­r) in their Perth and Glasgow offices.”
