OTAGO

All welcome at the Otago gentle exercise class on Monday from 9.45am to 10.15am in Kippen Church House. The instructor will provide further details.

CANCER RESEARCH

During January, collectors will visit homes in Kippen and district collecting for the 2020 Dr Railton Scott Cancer Research UK fundraisin­g appeal. This will conclude with the whist drive in the village hall on Friday, February 7 at 7pm. WHIST LESSONS

Anyone wishing to learn to play whist or to have a refresher course will be welcome at the lessons in the Reading Room, Main Street, on Wednesday, January 29 and February 5 at 7.30pm. It is not necessary to commit to all lessons.

WEE WHIST

Next whist is on Wednesday, February 12 at 7.30pm in the Reading Room.

CHURCH

Rev Ellen Larson Davidson will conduct the service in Kippen Church at the usual time of 11.15am on Sunday. At the end of the service for those wishing to participat­e there will be a short Sacrament of Holy Communion.

COLLECTION­S

The recent carol singing around the Christmas tree raised £205 for Strathcarr­on Hospice. Thbnaks to all who supported this, particular­ly the Cross Keys Hotel. Santa’s visit to John and Shirely Lamb’s home raised £647 for Start-Up Stirling which also gained more than £3000 from the Classics at Kippen carol concert.

PARISH CHURCH

Worship on Sunday will be at the usual time of 10 am and led by the Rev Dr Valerie
