Caley Marts sold 216 cattle comprising of 112 bullocks, heifers and young bulls and 104 OTM cattle.

Prime heifers sold to 238p pkg for a Limousin from W Dandie and Sons, Learielaw, Broxburn purchased by G Kirk and Son, Butcher, Denny and to £1530 for a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, Canonbie purchased by HA Black and Sons, Butcher, Stirling.

Prime bullocks sold to 230p pkg for a Limousin from D Dickinson purchased by R Brown, Butcher, Stenhousemuir and to £1500 for a Charolais from A Pettigrew, Faskine, Airdrie.

Bulls (under 30 months) sold to 192p pkg for an Aberdeen Angus from AB McIntosh, Drumflower, Stranraer and to £1259 from the same home.

Other leading prices: Bullocks per kg - 225p Brockwoodlees, Easter Ochtermuthill and Learielaw; 222p Pirnhall; 220p Balquharrage. Bullocks per head - £1467 Brockwoodlees; £1453 Learielaw; £1427 Easter Ochtermuthill; £1421 Brockwoodlees; £1420 Learielaw; £1417 Easter Ochtermuthill.

Heifers per kg - 235p Learielaw; 232p Brockwoodlees and Knockhouse; 230p Newton of Logierait, Brockwoodlees, Learielaw and Knockhouse; 228p Brockwoodlees. Heifers per head £1494 Brockwoodlees; £1470 and £1449 Knockhouse; £1443 Easter Ochtermuthill; £1435 and £1434 Knockhouse; £1433 Learielaw.

Also forward were 104 OTM cattle. With a large number of feeding cows forward, they met a good trade, selling to a large ringside of buyers.

Well fleshed OTMs averaged 146p pkg selling to 183p pkg for a Limousin from IW Brisbane, South Woodlane, Blairdrummond and to £1230 for a British Blue from A Kennedy and Sons, Seggarsdean, Haddington.

Dairy cows averaged 97p pkg selling to 124p pkg from WM Andrews, Crossflat, Kilbarchan and to £880 from R Denholm, Wester Lochdrum, Bonnybridge.
