Colin Morrison from Alloa took three fish for 10lbs on a Yellow Dancer fished deep; William Walker (Larbert) three for 10lbs on a Cat; John Mackie (Livingston) 15 catch and release (C&R) on Buzzers, Apps and Tiny Nymphs; Mark Anderson (Kilsyth) 10 C&R (best 10lbs on a Damsel); William Campbell (Stirling) used a Dry Yellow Owl to bag a brace weighing in at 5lbs; D Astles (Aberfeldy) two for 8lbs on a Yellow Dancer; Davie Duncan (Slamannan) two at 8lbs 4oz on a Yellow Dancer; Callum Inglis (Rosyth) nine C&R on Buzzers; Craig Inglis (Glasgow) 18 C&R; Derek Inglis (Stonehaven) eight C&R on a Damsel; Davie Inglis (Dumbarton) took 20 C&R on various lures; Stewart Inglis (Glasgow) 12 C&R on various lures; Bob Ross (Kilsyth) used a Black Snake to take a brace weighing 6lbs and S Don (Bo’ness) weighed in a couple for 8lbs taken on a Damsel.

SWANSWATER

The week started with a slight frost, some very thin ice and a water temperatur­e of 30C. By midweek it was milder and the water temperatur­e rose to 5.50C.

Water clarity remains very good. For most of the week the fish were to be found around three feet down and were in different locations on different days with the area from the boats round to the far bay, the bridge area, and the island all fishing well at certain times.

The most successful fly patterns included Cat’s Whisker, Black Fritz, Damsel, Diawl Bach, Buzzer, Bibio and dry G&H Sedge. On the bait pond power bait, worms and spinning were doing best.

Many fly anglers had one or two fish, either kept or returned. Amongst the best bags were John Hamilton, five for 14lb including three Golds; Danny Doherty (Denny) three for 10lb 4oz including a Gold; Steven McLuckie (Tillicoult­ry) three for 9lb 8oz; Kris Elliot (Dunblane) two for 7lb 4oz including a Gold; John Pearson (Bannockbur­n) two for 5lb 8oz from the Millpond including a Gold; Jimmy Higgins 4lb 4oz Gold; Nigel Muckle (West Calder) caught and released eight including 8lb Rainbow, 6lb Gold and a Brown; Robert Cochrane and Harry Haggerty C&R five; Raymond Lane C&R four.

Several Golds and Tigers were landed from the bait pond including David Hennessay four for 11lb 12oz including two Golds; Geraldes three for 6lb 12oz including a Tiger; Donatas 2lb 8oz Tiger; Modris two for 5lb including a Gold; Kenneth Donald two for 5lb 4oz including a Gold and a Tiger; William Reid 2lb 8oz Tiger; William McGowan two for 5lb 12oz including a Gold; Archie McKinnon 2lb 4oz Tiger.
