Mental Health First Aid
This week all around the school pupils will find new Mental Health First Aider posters to remind pupils and staff who they can go and chat to if they feel things are getting on top of them and needing some support and encouragement.
St Modan’s Feast Day Celebration
The school was delighted to welcome Bishop Stephen Robson on Tuesday, February 4 to celebrate its Feast Day Mass. Bishop Robson was supported by Fr Andrew Kingham and Canon John Harty, two local priests. Mass was celebrated for nearly a thousand young people, teachers and invited guests. It was a lovely event marking the patron saint and celebrating school values.
The afternoon was also a busy and eventful time for all with numerous activities undertaken by pupils. S5 pupils went to The Vue to see 1917; S4 attended Safe Drive, Stay Alive; S1-3 enjoyed a range of activities organised by the S6 leadership team to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice.
There was staff versus pupils football and netball; a disco by resident DJ (Mr Easson, Physics) and a table quiz over the tannoy. The day culminated in a school conga with S1, S2, S3 and S6 pupils led by head teacher Mr Raymond O’Neill. Luckily the sun shone on the long train of pupils as they congad around the building.
