MILTON .............................................. 0 FINNART ............................................. 4

Three late goals by their opponents put paid to Milton’s chances of reaching the Douglas Smith League Cup final.

Milton had a number of efforts but Finnart’s keepr made a few good stops and as the local side tried to get back into thje game, Finnart hit them with three sucker punches.

The Bluebellwood outift started well and McWilliams and Younger were unlucky not to open the scoring with the Finnart keeper making two excellent stops.

Finnart moved the ball well without creating anything special and at the other end, Mitchell sent in a nice cross which Younger got on the end of but thwarted by the keeper again.

Finnart opened the scoring when Milton failed to prevent a cutback and the striker hammered the ball into the net but Milton came back at them and Preston had an effort saved, Findlay had a long range netward bound parried round the post and McWilliams had a shot was blocked.

Graham made a great save just before the break to prevent Finnart taking a two-goal advantage and not long after half-time the Finnart keeper made another great save from Preston.

The Milton keeper twice stopped his side from going furhter behind but with time running out Milton went on all out attack only to be picked out by Finnart who scored three late goals to win themselves a place in the final.

On Saturday Milton are at home to Dal Riata in the William Turner Challenge Cup, kick-off 2pm.
