Showing our creative side
Talented artists from Balfron High are showing off their skills thanks to a new exhibition.
The event is being organised and laid on by the Art4you Scotland school at Oakwood Garden Centre in Killearn, with the gallery doors being swung open to welcome an array of work produced by students for their SQA portfolio.
At the official opening of the exhibition last Friday, the school pupils had the opportunity to highlight their creative work to family and friends.
The exhbition will now remain open to the public until March 22, giving the chance for anyone and everyone interested to come and see the painting and printmaking talents of the school’s latest contingent at National 4/ 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.
After the event, the work will then be sent away to examiners to be marked.
Art4you Scotland’s owners Claudia and Ewen Duncan said: “We are delighted to showcase the pupils hard work and talent to the public.
“It is inspiring to experience the pupils, family members and friends excitement when seeing the art work exhibited.”
And the school’s headteacher was delighted with the fine array of work on show from the students.
Elaine Bannantyne said: “It is a fantastic community partnership between Balfron High School and art4you Scotland allowing us to show our art pupils talent to the wider community.”
The gallery’s opening hours are Monday to Friday between 10am and 4:30pm and Saturday 12:30pm to 4:30pm.
