MENSTRIE PARISH CHURCH

Sandie Kerr led worship on Sunday and will also conduct Sunday’s service. Rev Barry Hughes will lead the Communion Service on March 8 (please note change from usual date pattern). Tea in Two takes place weekly on Wednesdays between 10.30am and 11.30am. Collection­s continue for The Gate and would welcome donations. Any Easter themed goodies for the delivery at the end of March would be much appreciate­d. A fundraisin­g quiz night will be held on Friday, March 13 at 7.30pm. Tickets costing £5 (which include snacks but not refreshmen­ts) are available from Annette or Laura. There will also be a raffle on the night. Looking ahead, an open evening will be held by the Guild on Monday, March 30 at 7.30pm when Jack Delaney and Friends will provide an evening of music and song.

Centre, James Street. Councillor Danny Gibson will be attending and answering questions about how the City Deal will affect Riverside.

LITTER PICK

Riverside Naturally Community Litter Pick, in conjunctio­n with Riverside Community Council, is on Saturday, February 29 at 10am, meeting at Riverside Community Orchard (weather permitting). Join in to help keep Riverside beautiful and clear up the litter that has built up over the winter. Bring gloves and suitable clothing. Litter pickers, bags and a safety briefing will be provided.

CARPET BOWLS

Over 60s play in the Mayfield Centre from 2-4 pm on Mondays.

CIVIL DEFENCE CLUB

Two sessions of bingo on Sunday, eyes fown 8pm. with £100 jackpot in the second session. Entertainm­ent on Saturday by Stewart Kennedy. Hall can be hired for free on Fridays.

ST NINIANS OLD PARISH CHURCH

The 8th Stirling (St Ninians) Company of the Boys’ Brigade will hold their annual quiz in the Parish Halls on Friday, February 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £4. Service on Sunday at 10.30am will be conducted by the Rev Elinor Gordon. Mr McIntyre will be conducting the Communion service in St Columba’s Church in his capacity as Interim Moderator. A planning meeting in connection with the Easter holiday Club will take place in St Columba’s Church library on Monday, March 2 at 2pm. The Hall management committee will meet on Tuesday, March 3 at 12.30pm. The Tuesday Group is having an open night on March 3 at 7.30pm in the Parish Halls. Neil Oliver will be the guest speaker. Tickets costing £5 will be available on Sunday.

ST NINIANS COMMUNITY CHURCH

On Friday, February 28, RE:Fresh Cafe with tea, coffee and cakes is open from 11am to 12.45pm. On Sunday, service is at 4.30 for 5pm and is an Agape Meal ”Church around the dinner table”. Both will be held in the Mayfield Centre. All welcome.
