Tourism sites to stay open, for now...
Tourists sites across Stirling have confirmed they are remaining vigilant despite the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the area. Stirling Castle remained open to the public yesterday and Historic Environment Scotland, (HES)who run the site, says that it will monitor advice handed down from the Scottish Government. A HES spokesperson said: “We’re monitoring advice from government sources and maintaining an overview of developments, both locally and nationally. At all times, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, visitors and partners is paramount and we are continuing to monitor the situation and any developing advice or further recommendations.”
Ken Thomson, marketing manager at Stirling District Tourism, who operate the Wallace Monument, echoed those sentiments. He said:“As a responsible visitor destination, The National Wallace Monument will continue to take the latest government and public health advice.
“We will keep monitoring the situation closely and will be ready to respond as necessary. We remain open and are still very much welcoming visitors to learn the fascinating story of William Wallace.”
The National Trust for Scotland, who run the Battle of Bannockburn Experience, said: “The Trust is following all Scottish Government advice relating to the virus and keeping staff and volunteers up to date with the latest information.”
