Sadness after tragic death of Stirling city man
Pals and family pay tribute to Jack (22)
Touching tributes have been paid to a young Stirling man who died aged just 22.
Jack Paterson died suddenly on Tuesday, April 21.
Jack, from the Top of the Town, is survived by parents David and Caroline, brother Dylan and girlfriend Courtney.
Tributes have been paid to the former Stirling High pupil on social media.
Heartbroken girlfriend Courtney Cameron, had just marked the couple’s five year anniversary.
She described him as her “first love”.
She posted: “Can’t believe we won’t be able to do all the things we had planned, it’s killing me.
“Thank you my boy for showing me what real love and loyalty is.
“I will love you till my last breath.
“My heart hurts so bad. I wish I could catch a breath.
“All I want right now and always, is you.
“You made me the happiest girl in the world and that’s all you ever wanted.”
Brother Dylan posted: “The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support at this difficult time.”
Friend Sophie Binnie posted: “This has been so hard for me to write I have never felt pain quite like this in my life.
“Things have changed forever Jack, you don’t even understand how much this is going to affect us all. “
Shannon McGuigan said:
“Defo a cruel world we are living in. RIP wee Jack Paterson, another young one taken far too soon.”
Ryan Brown posted: “Top of the Town wouldn’t be the same without you. Got some great memories from when I stayed up there and more.”
Paul Mcgowan said: “I’m lost for words. I’m heartbroken ma cuz, the memories will last a lifetime and I’m glad to have known you, my brother fly high.”
A Go Fund Me page was set up in Jack’s memory by cousin Kyle Kirk and had raised more than £2000.
Jack’s heartbroken family later asked for the fundraising page to be taken down. A post there read: “The family would like to respectfully thank everyone for their kindness and compassion at this difficult time and reassure everyone they are not in any way offended by all your kindness.”
Jack’s funeral is due to take place on Thursday, however due to the current lockdown restrictions it will be a private service.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
