Blanefield outdoor nursery plan proposed
A new children’s nursery could be created in Blanefield.
Carbeth Guthrie have submitted an application to Stirling Council planners to site a modular building for nursery use 30 metres southwest of their estate office at Carbeth Guthrie House.
The proposal replaces a previous application, submitted last year but which was subsequently withdrawn.
Architects for the applicants said they were exploring the possibility of providing a proposed outdoor nursery facility to serve the local community, in line with local authority and Care Commission requirements.
They added: “The location of the facility is approximately 190 metres west of the main Carbeth Guthrie House within the client’s ownership boundary.
“In order to do so the siting of a small welfare facility to service the outdoor nursery is required, hence this application.
“The proposal in the first instance is to site a temporary single storey modular building containing welfare facilities of staff tea prep and male/female wc areas.
“In terms of siting, the location of an existing clearing west of the estates office has been specifically chosen due to its ease of access and utilisation of existing pedestrian and vehicular access, and car parking accommodating space for 40 plus vehicles.
“This is a new business for our client and they are seeking to be operational as soon as possible, this new facility is critical to their business plan moving forward in order to determine the viability of what will hopefully be a successful business serving the local community and of course bringing further employment to the local area.
“Ultimately in the future, with a positive outcome and successfully growing business, this will result in a more permanent structure being proposed for the site which will of course be subject to a separate application process.”
