Online directory support for traders

List of businesses and services operating during crisis

Stirling traders have come up with a range of initiatives to ensure they remain‘open for business’ during the Covid-19 crisis.

Businesses have adapted by moving their products online while many food and drink retailers have launched delivery services so they can continue to serve customers.

Go Forth Stirling, which runs the city’s Business Improvement

District, has launched a comprehensive online directory to support city traders - www. goforthstirling.co.uk/open-forbusiness

The ‘Open for Business’ directory highlights which businesses remain open - either physically or virtually – as well as providing details of what services each is offering, how to access them and information on opening days and times.

Go Forth Stirling project director Danielle McRorie-Smith said: “We’ve been impressed by how agile many of our traders have shown themselves to be and how well they have adapted their businesses so they can continue to trade despite the current crisis.

“We’ve set up our online directory as a means of supporting them and hope customers will continue to buy and order from the fantastic range of independent and national retailers we are lucky to have here in Stirling.

“If any more businesses want to add their details to the directory or tell us more about the ways they’ve adapted in the wake of the pandemic please get in touch.”

Among the initiatives are cafes and eateries delivering everything from afternoon teas to takeaways, businesses taking online orders and carrying out phone consultations, others introducing virtual initiatives such as exercise classes and quiz nights, and some even producing hand sanitiser.

A number of independent shops and larger stores are also still open for the public to visit in person

The team at Go Forth Stirling is also offering a range of free online training courses for Stirling’s business community during the Covid-19 crisis.

Details of all the courses, which are running between now and the end of September, can be found via www. goforthstirling.co.uk/ business-support
