Walking, cycling and skipping for foodbank

-

A marketing duo from Dunblane are almost half way through a 620-mile challenge in aid of foodbank charity Start Up Stirling.

Joanne Carruthers and Stacey Spence of WEM are taking part in the 2.6 Charity Challenge, setting themselves a goal to achieve 620 miles in the 31 days of May - by any method.

The pair have been walking their dogs, cycling, running and skipping their way to the target.

All money raised will be going to Start Up Stirling, who are providing an invaluable service for vulnerable families and individuals in Stirling communities, and whose services are in particular need during these uncertain times.

Stacey said:“The journey of 620 miles is equivalent to travelling between the emergency Covid-19 NHS hospitals, Louisa Jordan in Glasgow and the Nightingale Hospitals in Manchester and Birmingham and back home again to Dunblane for a well-deserved cuppa.

“We want to raise as much money as possible for and raise awareness of the fantastic work done by the team at

Start-Up Stirling. They are helping the poorest of families in our community, whose plight is made much worse due to the impact of Covid-19.

“As we are all confined to home at the moment, we are completing the challenge virtually and track progress based on our accumulative efforts of local dog walks, runs or indoor cycling.
