Bannockburn Amateurs legend Douglas Todd recently joined the club’s committee.

Douglas is one of Burn’s most successful managers, bringing home the West of Scotland Cup, four Caledonian top league championships, Central Scottish Division One and the Premier League.

As a player, he has a 1991 Scottish Amateur Cup winner’s medal when he featured in the same side as his brothers James and Stuart.

Club chairman Derek Robertson said: “In what’s likely to be a period of major change in amateur and professional football, Dougie’s knowledge and insight will be invaluable and the committee and management team are looking forward to him lending his vast experience in the game to help keep the club as one of the country’s finest.” whenever that may start. I didn’t have a strong opinion on what the set-up should be but it is helpful to have clarity for player recruitment.

“We have some targets but we have time on our side and it’s important to give ourselves flexibility because you don’t know who might become available.”

Meanwhile, Rutkiewicz has tipped Heaver to play a bigger role next term after making a promising start to his senior career.

The former Albion youth team player returned to Forthbank last summer after stepping up from Bannockburn Amateurs and scored the first of his five goals on his league debut in the 1-1 draw with Stenhousemuir at the end of September.
