NORRIESTON PARISH CHURCH

Last Sunday the Rev Ellen Larson Davidson took us on a walk in the woods, by a new path, to an unknown destination, but with a known and trusted guide - just possibly a child. Her faith was justified and new things were seen and learned upon the way, as with Christ, as guide and companion on The Way and the church living and being in the world. From tomorrow (Saturday) and throughout the following week it will be possible to follow some of the activities of the Virtual General Assembly of the Church of Scotland on line. Zoomed meeting for the Community Bible Experience study groups continue to take place on Wednesdays at 10.30am and Sundays at 7.30pm. This has been Christian Aid Week, concluding on Sunday, May 17, and a different Christian Aid Week with no envelopes to deliver and collect, no gardens to admire, no conversations to be enjoyed. Christian Aid however needs our help, perhaps more than ever. Using the experience gathered recently in working in Ebola stricken areas of Africa, they are now ready to help, especially in Africa again, in the face of the current pandemic which is expected to become very serious and difficult to control in the poverty of that continent. Donations to Christian Aid can be made by going to: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ kippen-norriestonchurches2020 or www. christianaid.org.uk/get-involved-locally/ scotland/christian-aid-week.

The society is still hopeful that it will be able to stage some kind of show in September. Details will be forthcoming in due course.
