This boy’s got talent as Adam scoops win
A budding young musician from Dunblane has won a national talent contest.
Adam Li (10), a member of the Junior Section at Dunblane BB, came out on top in the Boys’ Brigade’s national competition last week - BB’s Got Talent - winning the Junior Section prize with a confident piano performance of Beethoven’s Für Elise.
First selected by a panel of staff and volunteers from BB HQ to be in the final, Adam then won the popular support of voters in a 48hour online poll in which viewers up and down the UK and Ireland could watch the various music and dance performances.
His virtuoso playing gained him 57 per cent of the popular vote in his age category.
Adam, who also plays clarinet in the BB Band in Dunblane as well as violin at school, was delighted with the win.
The Dunblane Primary pupil said: “I would like to thank my teachers, friends and BB members and leaders for voting for me in the final.”
BB Captain Fraser Boyd added: “We’re very proud of Adam. He’s a very talented young man and gives an incredible amount of musical service to BB in the band at such a young age and it was fitting to see him take this prize.
“I would also like to give credit to James Connery, one of our older boys, and his sister Karis, who did very well reaching the group category final and finishing third with a very entertaining music, magic and special effects video on the theme of Mission Impossible.” You can view Adam’s performance online at Vimeo. com/420483180 and James and Karis’s video at Vimeo. com/420479648.
