She added: “We’ve become our own wee tribe and you become associated with families in the same situation as you.

“I asked a question there about other families and we discovered that other people had seen hours cut and payments stopped with no needs assessment being done.

“I feel as if our children are very much the forgotten children in all of this.

“Covid is an unusual time for everyone, but the people who are supposed to be helping us are nowhere to be seen - if people don’t speak up, then they will get away with it.”

In response, a Stirling Council spokespers­on said: “Since the Covid-19 lockdown came into force, Stirling Council has adapted its services to continue supporting families with children with additional support needs.

“Although day services and clubs for children and young people closed at the start of the pandemic to comply with Scottish Government restrictio­ns, we have taken all steps to ensure vulnerable children are not at risk and offered a wide range of specialise­d support when required.

“We have remained in regular contact with families and we will continue to address any concerns or requests for additional support.”
