Golfers’ gift to Scouts

Senior Section members of Braehead Golf Club raised more than £500 during their winter season for Tullibody Scout Group.

The players teamed up with club caterer Ian Wood of the Grill@Braehead by competing in the Ochil Shield winter event and those who played donated every week while in return, Ian provided the weekly winner with a light lunch and the overall winner with a meal for four people in the eatery at the club.

Owing to the coronavirus outbreak and lockdown it was not possible until now to make the presentation of the cheque for £508 and recently, George Burnett, District Commissioner, was at the club to accpet the donation from Braehead members Michael Fraser, Malcolm Spiers and Ian Wood.

George thanked the seniors and added that the funds would be used to provide and implement safety precautions preparatory to the return of Scouting and to provide a more interactive programme through digital technology with the ultimate outcome of developing Scouting members’skills for life.
