Little sign of heat coming our way
Last week just made it into the‘passable for a Scottish summer week’ category.
It was a dry week with only 1.78mm of rainfall, meaning it was more welcoming for outdoor activities, but even though the temperature did rise into the early twenties on occasions a brisk wind which affected the area for the whole week took some of the warmth away from the sun.
An average weekly wind speed 11.75mph meant it was the windiest week of the summer so far.
The maximum temperature was 21.5 Centigrade on Sunday, July 12, with a low of 9.4 Centigrade on Sunday, July 12.
The maximum daily rainfall was 0.76mm on Monday, July 13.
Wind gusts topped 25mph on Monday, July 13, andthursday, July 16.
Showers are expected in the coming days with several days threatening some light rain with potentially longer spells of rain over the weekend. Temperature-wise it’s going to be disappointing for this time of year with maximum temperatures in the mid to high teens. Some late evening sunshine is possible but there will be a lot of cloud around all week. Breezy at times.
The earliest sunrise will be at 5.12am with the latest sunset at 9.30pm.
Didyou Know:the average temperature so far for July 2020 is 13.9 Centigrade.that’s way below our best average July month in the last 10 years of 17.2 Centigrade in 2013. In fact the current average temperature this year for July is colder than June.
