In Friday’s Observer we told how daytrippers were causing problems for residents in a number of locations.

Disgust and disbelief was expressed over the antics of disrespectful visitors and would-be campers visiting Loch Earn. One resident described the scene left behind following a weekend of lochside revelry as“carnage”and aggressive behaviour from brazen campers has left some locals frightened to go out.

A farmer also raised concerns over day trippers leaving rubbish behind at Loch Venachar.

In response, Observer readers shared their views on the incidents on our Facebook page.

Addelle Mckenna said:“it’s a disgrace people need to learn to respect these beauty spots and learn to keep our country clean instead of spoiling it for others. There’s no need for all the time it would take to pack up their rubbish and take it away with them.”

Kirstein Rummery posted:“did folk do this before lockdown? I don’t remember it being this bad. It’s like everyone has forgotten how to behave like normal human beings.”

Whitney Lionel Dick posted:“what a bunch of savages. Clearly they have no regard or care about others who actually enjoy the outdoors!

“Makes my blood boil! Going to have to implement a system to register who’s camping by using a driver’s licence number or you will have to pay to enter the site and pay a deposit! I’m so sick and tired of people not appreciating what they have!”
