Business month finally goes ahead

-

Stirling Business Month is set to go ahead online - five months after being put on hold due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Now in its sixth year, the event - which runs from August 20 to September 17 - aims to keep business owners up to date with business trends.

With the continued need for physical distancing all the events will now take place online via Microsoftteams.

Over the past five years, Stirling Business Month has brought over 60 events to more than 1500 business professionals.

In the last year, these have varied, from helping businesses to plan for post-brexit, to developing their marketing plans and hiring local talent.

With the schedule and agenda of events adapted to suit an online world, STEP’S marketing manager Jenn Mcarthur said:“a lot of planning goes into these events and the team were disheartened when the events had to be postponed in March.

“However, going online is exciting and has the bonus of opening the events up to a much wider audience and will allow us to support more of the vast Stirling area.

“We’ve also changed up some of the events to suit the needs of the new world we’re living in.”

Partnering with West of Scotland Federation of Small Businesses, the first business month event will focus on the new concept of a wellbeing economy, community wealth building and how progressive business models will support communities of the future.

FSB Scotland will also be partners in the business month’s annual employers forum which sees a panel of experts from the Stirling Council run Local Employers Engagement Group taking questions on any employment-related issues.

Forum chair, the council’s learning and employability senior officer Gordon Wright, said:“as people return to their places of work, we will all face common challenges of ensuring workforces are safe and business owners have the correct tools in place to support their team.”

Stirling Business Month events are funded by STEP as part of their local economy-boosting activities and events are free to attend.
