Allan – playing on Friday – carded seven pars, six bogeys and five double bogeys in halves of 45/43 and was also rewarded with a General Play Handicap Reduction to 16.

Graham Heggie was second in Class 3, beating David Fallow on the bih with David rueing a lost ball at 10th and a resultant treble bogey six. Graham was cut to 18 and had a birdie 2 at the 14th. David recovered from the blip on 10 with five pars on the inward nine.

Russell Mclean also playing on Friday won Class 1 with a two over par 74 net 67 with birdies at 2&8 and nine straight pars on the back nine.

Martin Davidson, Stuart Cunningham, Ian Matthewson and Andrew Wilson all carded net 68s with latter two missing out on the better inward half for 2nd and 3rd places.

Stuart Brown another Friday player won Class 2 on net 69 beating Les Cattigan, Blair Mackay and Robert Hay on the bih with Robert losing out in the prizes.

Stuart had 10 pars and eight bogeys on the card in halves of 41/39. Les was 42/41 and Blair 39/40 the highlight a birdie at 12th.

Roland Fleming showed no signs of rustiness on his first outing for months, returning a one under par 71 with a birdie, birdie finish and inward nine of 34 for best scratch score of the weekend. and despite the good summer weather conditions were tough with slick greens and a brisk breeze. Winner on the day was the consistent Jim Black whose 19 points score won by two shots from Ian Houston who took second place on 17 points.

Alastair Redpath led a group of players on 16 points by virtue of a countback to take third place. On Saturday, the first round of the late Spring Shield was contested and again conditions proved tough. Mike Smith returned the best score of the day winning with his Net 66. Simon Lyall was second, again with a Net 66 and Andrew Stuart just pipped Garry Bowman on a countback to claim third place, both players returning Net 67s. In Sunday’s, White Tee 9 hole Stableford the winner was Simon Lyall with 20 points and Lawrence Jaconelli was second with 18 points.
