There was a big entry for the qualifying rounds for the Club Championsh­ip and Kirkland Trophy (Handicap Championsh­ip) over Saturday and Sunday.

Leading qualifier for Club Championsh­ip was Steven Aitken with rounds of 73/72, 145. Second qualifier was Gavin Denham on 146, 72/74.

Due to the delay in running the championsh­ip the qualifiers have had to be reduced to 8 and the remaining successful players were Ken Wilkie 147, 73/74, Alan Lockhart 147, 72/75, George Corbett 149, 73/76, Blair Paterson 149, 70/79, Joe Clark 150, 76/74 and Malcolm

Scott 151, 75/76.

In the Kirkland Trophy the leading qualifier was Matthew Pittam (18) on 134, 67/67. Second qualifier was Campbell Geddes (19) on 135, 67/68. The remaining qualifiers were Clinton Main (25) on 139, 72/67, Ian Kenny (12) 139, 69/70, Ben Genese (8) 141, 70/71, William Don (15) 141, 66/75, James Mcintyre (10) 142, 72/70 and Steven Rennie (10) 142, 68/74.

The Match Play ties will be completed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with the Finals on Saturday along with the Ladies and Juniors.

In the Medal run alongside the Qualifying Rounds the Dewar Trophy for the best net aggregate score went to Joe Clark (8) on 134, 68/66 and a BSR than Matthew Pittam (18) 67/67.

The Scratch Class was won by Steven Aitken on 145, 73/72 with Ken Wilkie runner up on 147 BSR, 73/74 than Alan Lockhart 72/75.

Gavin Denham (4) won the First Class on 138, 68/70. Four players then returned 141 but runner up spot went to Luke Hendren (9) with 74/67BSR ahead of Ben Genese (8) 70/71 and BIHSR than Stuart Macdonald (10) and BIHSR than Malcom Scott (5).

The Second Class was won by Ian Kenny (12) on 139, 69/70 with William Don (15) runner up on 141, 66/75. Darren Davidson (12) was third on 143BIHSR, 74/69 than Scott Penman (12).

Matthew Pittam (18) had the consolatio­n of winning the Third Class on 134, 67/67. Runner up was Campbell Geddes (19) 135, 67/68 with Clinton Main (25) third on 139, 72/67.

In the Monthly Midweek Medal Allan

Cowie returned the Best Scratch Score a one over par 70 including birdies at 10, 14, 15 and 18.

The First Class was won by Ken Wilkie (4) on 67 and BL6 including a birdie at 14 than James Mcintosh (13) who had birdied 10. Four players then returned 68 but third place went to Alan Murray (9) with BIH including birdies at 13, 15 and 16 than Paul Anderson (9) who had BIH than Joe Patton (5) who had double bogey at 16 and Ian M Campbell (12) who had double bogey at 17.

Ian Docherty (17) won the Second Class on 68. There were then four at 69all very close in their back nines but runner up spot went to John Young (14) with B15th than Mark Hay (14) who had BL2 than David Gemmell (15) who had BIH than Thomas Mcghee (23).

There will be a Yellow Tee Stableford on Wednesday (12th).

Next Saturday is Finals Day with 36 hole Club Championsh­ip teeing off for their 1st round in the morning with the Ladies Club Championsh­ip, The Junior Championsh­ip, The Junior Handicap Championsh­ip and the Kirkland Trophy (Gent’s Handicap Championsh­ip) all teeing off at 12.30 onwards followed by the 2nd round of the Club Championsh­ip .
