Playing to three quarter handicaps the winner of The Adrian Pirie Trophy with 31 points was David Mcguffie with Greg Harrower runner up and Graeme Orr in third place. Greg won the prize for ‘Nearest the Pin’, and with no ‘Magic Twos’ being scored the prize money again carries forward to the first outing of next year. The society is grateful to Helensburgh Golf Club’s members and staff for making the day so enjoyable and to Adrian Pirie for donating the prizes. CALLANDER KIRK

Callander Kirk will be open for Sunday worship on September 6 at 11.15am. Following a substantial process undertaken by a team in the congregation, a submission to the Presbytery of Stirling regarding the reopening of Callander Kirk for Sunday worship and funerals has been accepted and Callander Kirk Session has resolved to proceed. There are many rules and regulations attached to this process which are compulsory. It is important to emphasise that coming to church will not be the same as they were before. Firstly, numbers are restricted to a maximum of 50. There will be a one-way system in operation with a separate entrance and exit. Everyone attending will require to give their contact details, gel their hands on entering and leaving, wear a face covering and keep a two metre distance. Stewards will direct people when to enter and leave the building as well as where to sit. Toilets will be unavailable except in emergencies. Unfortunately, no-one will be able to sing or shake hands, and refreshments and water will not be available. Please note, that anyone who is experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms should not attend. CHURCH

A welcome change beginning on Sunday, September 6, will see the morning service streamed on line from 11.30am at www.drymenchurch.org . It can then be found on the website at any time afterwards. Click on “sermons”. No password is required and access is open to all. Everyone is welcome ! Preparations are underway to begin limited use of the church for regular worship from Sunday, September 13.
