Last week’s dry and warm conditions were very much welcomed after frequent recent spells of unsettled weather, writes SCOTT MCLEAN.

Towards the end of last week and over the weekend temperatures were close to 20 celsius with dry and calm weather making it ideal for outdoor activities.

The maximum temperature reached 20.8 celsius last Tuesday with a low of just seven celsius recorded on Saturday, September 19.

The maximum daily rainfall was 6.10mm on Sunday, September 13, for a weekly total of 9.15mm.

Wind speeds reached 32 mph on Sunday, September 13.

Looking at the week ahead, we are expecting more in the way of wet weather, with showers and perhaps longer spells of rain.

From midweek onwards there will be the risk each day for showers but some brighter spells will also develop.

The main noticeable factor in the weather this week will be the temperature with a much cooler feel in the air.

Maximum daytime temperatures could be as low as 11 Celsius and there is the possibility overnight temperatures towards the end of the week could drop close to freezing, especially in more rural areas of Stirling.

Some days could be breezy and with the wind direction at times coming from the nort, it will feel chilly.

The earliest sunrise will be at 7.15am with the latest sunset at 6.55pm.

Did You Know: Friday will be the first day this autumn that daylight will be shorter than night, with a daylength of 11 hours and 58 minutes.
