Fishing latest SWANSWATER FISHERY

-

The week started damp, showery and relatively mild and finished damp, showery and a good deal colder including a slight frost on Thursday.

The water temperature remained around 7-8 Centigrade and water clarity is still excellent, although there was a little colouring from the rain on Wednesday which quickly cleared.

The fish are well spread out round the main pond with the island and dam areas being hotspots at times during the week. Most fish are to be found around 3 to 4 feet down and are still usually looking to chase flies.

The most successful flies included the usual favourites – Ally Mccoist, Henrik Larsson, Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Damsel, Diawl Bach and, at certain times, Buzzer. On the bait pond Green Power Bait or Mouse Tails were taking most of the fish.

The fishery is currently in Level 4 of Government restrictions. We are able to remain open and are asking anglers to observe and comply with all restrictions before travelling to Swanswater.

Opening hours are currently 8am to 4.30pm every day, except Thursday when we close at 2.30pm.
