Strathcarron inspired tartan is perfect gift
A new tartan inspired by Strathcarron is set to raise funds for the hospice.
The Snowdrop Tartan was created by textile designer Claire Hunter of Clackmannanshire-basedtaffled Threads.
It has been used to create a range of goods, with 15 per cent of the sales being donated to Strathcarron.
She said:“after many months of designing, weaving and sewing, I am delighted to announce the launch of the Snowdrop Tartan.
“I designed the tartan as a tribute to the wonderful work of the Strathcarron Hospice.
“Taking the charity’s adopted flower as my inspiration, I’ve incorporated the green and white colours of this beautiful winter bloom as the base to my tartan design, weaving in additional shades of blue taken from the Strathcarron logo. I’ve added charcoal to symbolise sadness and grief, balanced with a deep red for love.
“The snowdrop represents renewal, hope and growth, an apt symbol for the vital care the amazing staff at the hospice give our loved ones. I hope this new tartan will raise awareness of their important work plus additional funds, with 15 per cent of all proceeds going to Strathcarron.
“Thank you to everyone who has placed an order, commented and liked the Snowdrop Tartan. I am truly grateful and blown away by the response. I am busy packing orders and making new stock. It is great to be able to support such a wonderful charity.
Strathcarron’s business development manager Claire Mcdonald said:“we just love the tartan. People can either treat themselves or purchase a Christmas gift with meaning online now at https:// folksy.com/shops/taffledthreads. There are scarves, cushions, keyrings, purses and more, with 15% of all proceeds coming back to the hospice to help our nurses and frontline staff continue to care for local people living with, and dying from, a terminal illness.”
