Artists jump at chance to play part

Artists involved:

■Greig Taylor - After a whirlwind 2019 things have been reasonably quiet for Greig in 2020, mainly due to Covid, with a mooted US tour being put on hold. The respected Stirling singer/ songwriter continued to perform online charity shows in aid of the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund. He also announced his fifth studio album is being recorded and is set for release on July 5 next year following a launch show on May 29 at Stirling’s Tolbooth.

■ Brian Conway - Brian said:“all I want for Christmas is for people to be able to go out and enjoy themselves, to see and hear these wonderful artists doing their shows to a live audience. This recording is done with love for Eilidh.”

■ Alix Muir -“It’s been great to be involved in the Eilidh Brown Memorial charity,”said Alix.“working alongside fab other artists has just made this year that little bit better despite not being able to do what we love to do every weekend.”

■ Sister Gavin and the Gator Primarily a duo that are fairly new on the blues scene, the duo of Iain Donald and Adele Gavin are tipped as one of the best new female-fronted blues bands in the UK and one of the hardest-working duos in Stirlingsh­ire. Even during the pandemic you’ll catch them busking in and around Stirling.

■ James‘souey’lafferty - A dad and post-grad student studying TQFE at Stirling University (trainee creative industries lecturer), the 39-year-old is also an accomplish­ed songwriter and performs with Oasis tribute band Stop the Clocks.

■ Scott Mcgill - Scott has been on the music scene since 2014 after picking the guitar up at 21 and gigging the next year, playing pubs like Molly Malones and The old Crooked Arms. He went viral recently via the Scotland national team using his recording of Yes Sir I Can Boogie and is bringing out an album of folk songs, including one of his own, in the coming weeks.

■ Rachel Finan - Rachel Finan came over from Ireland at the age of 18 in 2012 for university and hasn’t left Scotland since, becoming a nurse. She currently works at the Beatson in Glasgow. She used to sing in the church choir back home and performed the national anthem before Gaelic football matches. On top of this, Rachel is featuring in Scott Mcgill’s album“hard Times Come Again No More”on a classic Irish track.

■ Kendall Mcguigan - Kendall, a daughter of the Rock, said:“i was honoured when approached to sing my part to raise much needed funds for Eilidh’s house. It’s a great cause.”

■ Laura Begley - Laura appeared on The Voice 2016, mentored by Boy George, making it through to the knockout rounds. Since then Laura has been writing and recording songs under the name Elle Bee and collaborat­ing with different producers.
