Binos not planning on influx of new players after promising start

-

Stirling Albion manager Kevin Rutkiewicz is expecting a relatively quiet January transfer window at Forthbank on the back of a good start to the season.

The Binos have lost just once in nine games in League Two – at home to Elgin City – and have a Scottish Cup tie with Raith Rovers to look forward to this weekend.

He said:“there has been a fair bit of activity already in

League Two, with the likes of Albion Rovers and Brechin City bringing in players, but I don’t think we will be overly busy.

“We will try and do one or two but I don’t think we need major surgery and we can be selective with who we bring in.

“Dylan Bikey was in the squad at Stenhousemuir and he is like a new signing for us and a marquee one at that.

“We have very strong attacking options and we have a good balance at the back.

“We have terrific midfielders and the wide areas are looking strong, with Ross Mcgeachie on the right and Kieran Moore and Scott Roberts sharing that role on the left.

“We have quality all over the park so it’s just about maybe filling in for the likes of Lewis Magee.

“We also have a decision to make regarding Jonny Mitchell, who was on a short-term deal.

“Given it’s a cup weekend I don’t think there is a great urgency to do anything this week but obviously if the right player appears on the scene, we would look to do something.

“If we can keep winning games then I’m sure the fans would take that over new signings anyway.”
