Housing planstobe considered
Housing developments potentially totalling almost 600 new homes for Bannockburn and the Eastern Villages - are set to come before councillors next week.
Three separate applications will be considered at Tuesday’s virtual meeting of Stirling Council’s planning panel.
The largest application is by Ashfield Land (Fallin) Ltd who want to develop land between Drypow and Alton Farmhouses north of Main Street in Fallin.
While the application is for permission in principle, the company have previously indicated they would be looking to build around 400 homes on the site.
Meanwhile, Persimmon Homes East Scotland and Story Homes Scotland Ltd are seeking approval for 117 houses on land at Cushenquarter Farm in Plean.
The site has had a lengthy planning history, with the application expected to be part of a wider bid to create 500 homes in total in that area of the village.
Council planning officials are recommending both applications be approved subject to Section 75 legal agreements covering aspects such as infrastructure.
Tuesday’s panel is also scheduled to consider an application for 41 houses submitted by Lovell Partnerships Ltd and D Roy (Civil Engineering) Ltd for a site in Bannockburn.
The developers want to demolish existing buildings at the builders yard at Bentheads to make way for the homes.
Council planners are recommending conditional approval of the application.
