Dairy bullocks (44) averaged 189.85p to 215.80p per kg for a 278kg BFX from Gilkerscleugh, and to £1075 for a 505kg MOX from Caddell.

Heifers (385) averaged 222.26p to 277.80p per kg for a 360kg Limx from Little Spot, and to £1420 for a 704kg Simx from Claysyke.

Young bulls (45) averaged 235.20p to 270.60p per kg for a AAX from Cathpair, and to £1140 for a Simx from East Merkland.

Caley Marts sold 179 cattle comprising of 61 bullocks, heifers and young bulls and 97 OTM cattle as well as 21 young calves and stirks.

Prime bullocks averaged 232p per kg at 616kg; prime heifers averaged 232p per kg at 579kg; prime heifers sold to 268p pkg for a Limousin from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill purchased by G Kirk, Butchers, Denny and to £1563 for a Limousin from J and N Kerr, Bankhead, Aberdour purchased by HA Black and Sons, Butchers, Stirling.

Prime bullocks sold to 262p pkg for a Limousin from A Pettigrew, Faskine, Airdrie purchased by D Campbell,

Butchers, Callander and to £1607 for a Limousin from M Orr and Sons, Penston, Tranent purchased by W Stark, Twechar, Kilsyth.

Bulls (under 30 months) sold to 225p pkg for a Limousin from W and R Thomson, Cairnbog, Kilsyth and to £1719 for the same animal.

Also forward were 97 OTM cattle. A larger number of feeding OTMS forward resulted in a drop in the average. OTMS averaged 134p pkg selling to 167p pkg for a Hereford from Goldenlea Farmers, Gryffewraes, Bridge of Weir and to £1240 for a Limousin from W Dick, Mains of Throsk, Throsk.

Dairy cows averaged 99p pkg selling to 118p pkg from GW Paterson, Barbeth, Cumbernauld and to £840 from A Mckenzie, Ardgate, Gartocharn.

Caley Marts had forward 229 store cattle at their fortnightly sale with a strong ringside of buyers forward for all types of cattle resulting in 116 bullocks averaging £1007 and 113 heifers averaging £906.

Bullocks averaged 230p pkg selling to 313p pkg for a pen of Limousins from J Macnicol and Sons, Turnault, Lochgilphead and to £1400 for a pen of Limousins from

A Kennedy, Seggarsdean, Haddington.

Heifers averaged 226p pkg selling to 306p pkg on two occasions for pens of Limousins from J Macnicol and Sons, Turnault, Lochgilphead and again a pen of Limousins from WH and M Sloan, Mull of Galloway, Wigtownshire, and to £1380 for a Limousin from A Kennedy, Seggarsdean, Haddington. Dairy bullocks sold to 205p pkg from J and D Mitchell, Offers, Stirling and to £850 from the same home.

The overall average for the 1164 hoggs levelled at 251p pkg with an SQQ average of 255p pkg for 901 hoggs.

Leading the way per head with a Beltex Hogg at £138 was R Kennedy, Borlick, Aberfeldy and per kg reached 299p for a pen of Beltex from WM Bell, Craigend,perth.
