Road delays ahead

Essential maintenance is planned for the A9 Doune Road overbridge with the project set to get underway next week.

The project, which is located just under 3km north of Keir Roundabout near Dunblane, will involve teams upgrading the current safety barrier system on the overbridge ensuring the structure continues to operate safely for years to come.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday, February 15, and will take place over a four-week period with completion expected by Tuesday March 16.

The Doune Road will remain open throughout the project however there will be four-way temporary traffic lights in place with signals positioned on the A9 slip roads and the overbridge for safety.

Single lane closures will be place on the A9 during off-peak hours at the start and end of the project to allow teams to safely set up and remove the necessary safety measures.

The A9 will be unaffected during the work and access for pedestrians will be maintained.

Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government COVID-19 guidance, will be in place to ensure all site personnel remain safe.

Consultation has been carried out with Transport Scotland, Stirling Council, emergency services, community councils and transport operators to inform them of the project in advance.
